|Green Fingers, in collaboration with Solomou Nurseries and with the approval of the Ministry of Education and Culture, is designed to encourage and demonstrate to children the benefits in all areas of learning which gardening gives.
Our projects and lesson plans are designed for relevant ages, from nursery to primary school children.
When visiting the nursery, children will be given a tour and talk by a horticulturist as well as practical on-hands experience where the children will be given pots and soil to plant themselves.
All children will be given educational pamphlets which can be done in school as a follow up of their outing.
The school will receive a Solomou Loyalty Card giving them access to further discounts for improving the school surroundings/garden. Through gardening and improving their surroundings, the children will benefit from teamwork and further develop their social skills.
Gardening also helps in art, maths and health lessons with the physical activity developing dexterity and balance.
Photos of the participating schools will be put online on the website www.cyprusgreenfingers.com and automatically be entered into a draw. This will take place quarterly and give them the opportunity to win gardening related gifts for the school.
An important part of our project is that the interest and participation of each school and the children is continuous.
The students will be encouraged to participate in the interactive website with pages especially designed for them. Photos and drawings sent to www.Cyprusgreenfingers.com will be uploaded onto the website.
(For security purposes, no children’s photos will be allowed without the express written consent of parents).
We encourage all schools to take part and to allow the children to grow. For more information and bookings, please contact us now at firstname.lastname@example.org
