Modern-tropical Restoration
Project Description

This garden is part of a house that was recently renovated into a spacious contemporary residence in Nicosia. The garden which was best fit to clad it was definitely lush and of tropical style and luckily most of the plants of the existing garden had been of that nature. This also helped in the result, because as soon as the new plants were planted the garden felt as if it was growing for years due to the size of the old plants. Unique good-looking houses need something special to tie them with the garden and so not everyday plants were used, such as Dasylirium, Yucca attenuata, Alocasia, Croton and Black bamboo. Furthermore, two concepts were developed for the back garden; the first one utilises a bow-hammock in a circle-shaped area destined for resting and the second in place of the hammock there is a Japanese water feature constructed with bamboos.
